Geography, History & Local Context

Understand where we live. Explore the wider world

Rooted Here. Curious Everywhere.

Children learn to make sense of the world by connecting place, people, time, environment and change. Geography invites them to observe landscapes, investigate connections and consider the relationship between human activity and nature.

The Oxford Geography subject overview identifies place, change, connections and environment as key strands. The 2026 Oxford proposal also lists History among its available subjects; the school will confirm the scope and teaching materials for History before making a formal programme claim.

The Local Becomes a Window to the Global

Tirunelveli's rivers, agriculture, coast, seasons, cultural heritage and communities offer rich starting points for comparison with places and societies around the world.

 Questions Across Time and Place

Children can learn to work with maps, photographs, stories, timelines, artefacts and reliable sources—building an informed appreciation of difference and continuity
